The return of the Friday Random 10
I haven’t posted a random 10 list in a while just due to overall busy-ness. And unfortunately, the cable that connects the iPod to the computer — and to the recharging base — got lost in the move, so I’m without my mind-controlling status symbol iPod until I can make it out to Best Buy (do they sell those?) to get another and charge the thing up. Nonetheless, here’s what iTunes offered up for you this week:
- Memor esto tuorum (Anonymous 4, The Lily & The Lamb)
- Take Five (Dave Brubeck, Ken Burns Jazz: Dave Brubeck)
- Kindness (David Wilcox, Turning Point)
- Broken (Tears for Fears, Songs from the Big Chair) [Ah... high school memories.]
- Out of the Silent Planet (King’s X, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska)
- You Can’t Do That (Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night)
- In The Ghetto (Elvis, Elvis 30 #1 Hits)
- Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! (Beatles, Sgt. Pepper’s)
- Fight the Power (The Isley Brothers, The Essential Isley Brothers)
- All Aboad (Muddy Waters, His Best 1956-1964)
I have to give honorable mention to Colorblind, the new album from Robert Randolph and the Family Band. RRFB has been a personal favorite of mine ever since I caught the video for “I Need More Love” on VH1 about three years ago. This new album is great, and I have been listening to a playlist of RRFB with a bunch of songs from Colorblind, Unclassified, and Live at the Wetlands basically nonstop for the past three weeks. And it hasn’t gotten old!
