…I’m all done with the ASEE and headed off on vacation in nearby Holiday World. Whatever it is I’ve left out about ASEE, I hope to fill in once I’m back home. If there’s something specific you’d like to know about what I’ve seen here, let me know in the comments.

I’m curious to hear anything you have to report! As a high school math & engineering teacher, I’ve been getting e-mail updates from ASEE and enjoying the K-12 section of their website. And I’ve appreciated the updates you have posted so far on the conference. Do you think attending would be worthwhile for a high school teacher?
I think you’d have to pick and choose your way through the program. The majority of the talks at the ASEE were intended for specific engineering disciplines or courses — project-based learning for materials engineering courses, etc. — and I don’t know how well those would transfer to K-12 engineering/STEM teaching. But as you can tell, I don’t actually teach engineering at all (with possible exception of MATLAB) but I found more ideas than I know what to do with.
Next year’s ASEE is in Vancouver, BTW. So I’m already making up a list of reasons why I need to go.
