At some point overnight, this blog became unavailable due to a database access error. I’m not entirely sure what caused this — I changed my user password at the new hosting service, and apparently it didn’t change the password in the wp-config.php file, and so the entire blog was inaccessible until I manually changed it a few minutes ago. You can (obviously) view the blog, but I lost one post and two comments that I know of in the process. I apologize to anybody whose comments got lost. They may still be out there — I have a tech support request in to try and get the comments restored. And I apologize for the inconvenience of not being able to access the blog, although it has spared me the task of my usual morning de-spamming.
Let’s just say that I’m not real impressed with this new hosting service so far.
Update: OK, I’m a little more impressed with the hosting service, as they attended to my support request within 15 minutes of posting it. Chalk my unimpressed-ness up to frustration. Hopefully we can get the post and comments restored,
